The National Youth Agency: Spring issue of The Edge is released

1 min read

The Spring 2004 edition focuses on the issue of revitalising the local economy. It highlights the ways in which effective youth work programmes can help young people to develop the skills and confidence they need for the world of work. Too many young people fail to thrive in the mainstream, but The Edge offers an examination of youth work projects that have been able to support them in addressing issues in their own lives and hence helping them return to education, find a good job or even start their own businesses.

Young people can also take a lead role in regenerating local communities, as seen in a case study on Sheffield's NSF-funded Signpost project. The Acorn Initiative, a youth work-led E2E scheme in Nottinghamshire, is also examined. The Edge is distributed free to elected members.
