An activities pack to help youth workers increase their knowledge and understanding of solvent abuse has been published by experts in the field Re-Solv and is available on request for free.

Re-Solv is a national charity working to prevent deaths from solventabuse through educating young people and the professionals working withthem. Richard McKie, national programme manager - health at The NationalYouth Agency, said: "The importance of youth work in drug education iswidely recognised and this free resource from volatile substance abuseexpert organisation Re-Solv is a timely and welcome addition to thetoolkit. We know that many legal and illegal drugs can be dangerous, butthe potentially tragic and immediate threat posed by solvents means thatwhere volatile substance use is suspected, staff need to act quickly andwith the welfare of young people uppermost. This resource means thatsuch a response is that much more likely to be successful." To requestcopies of the resource, email youthliaison@re-solv.org or call 01785817885.
