The National Youth Agency: RUCKUS sees slavery through modern eyes

The next issue of RUCKUS, The NYA's free online magazine for young people, out in late June, features an interview with Sarah Mussi, author of Door Of No Return, a novel that puts slavery in a modern context.

The book's young protagonist, Zac Baxter, discovers he is the descendant of a lost prince from Ghana who was captured and enslaved along with so many millions of others. Zac is, in fact, the inheritor of a vast fortune, but must undertake an exciting, against-the-odds adventure to win his prize.

RUCKUS talks to Mussi about what slavery means to a new generation, how the ghost of it lives on, and how the lessons should never be forgotten. Download it at www.youthinformation.com/ruckus.
