The National Youth Agency: Pack to help raise aspirations

A new pack from the Young Adults Learning Partner- ship, the joint initiative between The National Youth Agency and NIACE, offers providers and practitioners information, resources and signposting to support the development of literacy, language and num- eracy skills among young parents and parents-to-be.

The pack comprises five sections - engagement, the learning journey, embedding literacy, language and numeracy in existing courses and materials, examples of successful approaches and using and developing existing resources.

Co-author Bethia McNeil, said: "The pack can be used in three main ways - to get an overall picture of how to support young parents and parents-to-be to develop their literacy, language and numeracy skills; to read in detail for examples of approaches and strategies; and as a resource for professional development to promote reflective practice."
