We are delighted to report Essex County Council Youth Service and Nottinghamshire County Council Youth Service have gained NYA accreditation of their workforce development policies.
Over the past 26 years, many youth services and organisations have benefited from this external scrutiny of policies and practices and from the identification of good practice through the peer accreditation process.
This latest round of accreditation marks the introduction of a revised process first piloted by Somerset in 2005. The new guidelines offer assistance in creating a policy and describe how an organisation can accredit it through a process of selfassessment and peer review. They are intended for all organisations delivering youth work in the statutory and voluntary sectors.
