THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: NYA co-hosts youth crime conference

1 min read
The NYA and Nottingham Trent University are to host a national conference in London on Tuesday, 15 July on youth work and youth crime.

Developing young people while reducing offending is aimed at government departments, youth services and national voluntary organisations involved in youth crime work.

The conference will take as its starting point a research study undertaken by Nottingham Trent University and The NYA that mapped local authority youth service activities that impact on the reduction of youth offending. This uncovered a diverse range of good practice from projects targeting young people at risk of disengagement from school through to those at risk of re-offending. All delegates will receive a copy of this report.

As well as disseminating the report findings, the conference will enable participants to gather perspectives on the impact of targeted youth work from young people, youth services and youth justice services.

For more details or to book a place, please contact Sara Dickinson, events coordinator at The NYA, on 0116 285 3708. Email: sarad@nya.org.uk. The deadline for booking is Friday, 4 July.
