The National Youth Agency: Helping services map and plan participation

With applications now open for the Big Lottery Fund's Young People's Fund 2, Participation Works is stepping up a programme of Hear by Right workshops to help services map and plan the participation of young people.

Participation Works has been commissioned to provide support to applicants to the Fund, which requires all projects to have young people playing a lead role.

The NYA's Hear by Right framework, and its self-assessment tool in particular, has been recognised by Government as a key way of reviewing and evidencing participation.

The workshops are free to voluntary and community sector groups (£85 to statutory organisations) and help explain the importance of involving young people as well as introducing organisations to using the self-assessment tool.

Upcoming events include London 10 June, Ipswich 11 June, Leicester 12 June, Southampton 17 June, Liverpool 19 June, Leeds 24 June, Middlesbrough 25 June, Derby 9 July, Birmingham 10 July and Exeter 17 July. Further events are planned for late summer.
