The National Youth Agency: Comment - Learn from your library

Who benefited from this? The author gained from her exchange with young people, the young women had a good time and found new ways to express themselves, the library service showed that they are an enormous and exciting resource and youth services increase their number of recorded outcomes (joke!).

Fulfilling their Potential is a national development programme for young people's library services, managed by the Reading Agency. It articulates the needs of young people and the benefits to be gained from their involvement.

It is an improvement programme for libraries that sits happily across the REYS improvement agenda. A recent conference organised by the Reading Agency and The NYA offered a chance to examine the potential for working together to secure added value for young people.
