More Than One Rung focuses on helping disadvantaged young women overcome the barriers and discrimination they often face, learn new skills and be taken seriously by potential employers.
The YWCA says that young women from poor communities need new and improved support to develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to get jobs so they can work their way off the bottom rung of the traditional career ladder.
The YWCA is aiming to secure both public and political support for the campaign by running events in Parliament, lobbying MPs and government ministers, as well as organising a calendar of national and regional activities for the general public.
