The Management of Building Schools for the Future (waves seven to 15)

Education
Building Schools for the Future is a multi-billion pound school building and refurbishment programme.

As part of the government's educational transformation agenda, the scheme aims to rebuild or refurbish nearly every secondary school in England. One hundred and eighty schools are to benefit from more than £2bn of investment in school buildings.

The programme intends to bring secondary schools up to modern standards through 15 waves of investment, which started in 2005/06. This consultation therefore seeks views on how waves seven to 15 should be managed. Local authorities, voluntary bodies, school representatives and any other parties with an interest in capital investment in schools - including the private sector - are all invited to respond.

The consultation will take into account developments in government policy since the programme was first launched, as well as any lessons that have been learned from the early waves.
