The Coalfields Regeneration Trust - main fund

1 min read
What it is: The Coalfields Regeneration Trust supports voluntary and community organisations that work in former coal mining areas of England, Scotland and Wales. Its main aim is to fund social and economic regeneration through grass-roots projects.

How much is on offer: The main grants fund offers between £10,000 and £300,000 per grant, but the amount on offer is dependent on which region a project is planning to work in.

What it will fund: Grants will be awarded to projects that fit into one of the four main categories. These are: supporting communities; learning communities; enterprising communities; and supporting people into work. Funding will also be considered for projects that regenerate large coalfields areas.

Who can apply: Any voluntary or community organisation that works in a coalfields area can apply. Information on what is considered to be a coalfields area is available from the trust. Potential projects will be assessed on criteria including how much local people are involved in planning and delivering the initiative and how well the project is supported locally.
