- What does British Youth Council do?
British Youth Council is an organisation led by young people, for young people aged 26 and under across the UK. It connects with member organisations, including Girlguiding UK, the Scout Association and the Prince's Trust, and a network of 650 local youth councils to empower all young people. The British Youth Council runs training, volunteering programmes and campaigns. It is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

The charity is based in London but reaches young people across the UK and overseas.
- What sort of roles are available?
The council employs 13 people in full- and part-time roles in five departments: programmes and training; international; marketing and communications; policy and press and central services. It also runs a strong intern programme sponsored by charity V, supporting eight young interns in the office. There are more than 250 volunteer British Youth Council campaigners, aged 16 to 25 who give up to an hour a week and play a key role in council activities.
