Sudden infant death: Child abuse unit takes control of London death investigation

1 min read
Every sudden infant death in London will be investigated by specially trained detective inspectors working for a centralised taskforce, under measures to improve the professionalism and sensitivity of investigations.

Sudden and unexplained child deaths are usually investigated locally by uniformed officers and CID, although in some cases detectives are only involved in suspicious circumstances.
