Substance Misuse: Government issues framework advice

The Department of Health's volatile substance misuse framework, due out today (20 July), aims to enhance efforts to tackle the problem.

It hopes the framework will help to co-ordinate youth workers, youth justice workers and other professionals' efforts to warn young people about the dangers of volatile substances.

The framework, Out of sight? Not out of mind, states that providing all children and young people with "effective information" about volatile substance abuse is a priority. It also wants to encourage young people to help address the problem in their local communities.
