Mission To warn young people about the dangers of knives

Funding Free use of equipment from UCLan and CSV Media, £2,500 from the Home Office and £5,000 from Preston City Council Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership

Staff and young people from Preston's youth offending team (YOT) are currently working on three short films designed to discourage young people from carrying knives.

One film emphasises the importance of making the right decisions in life, another explores how to access positive activities and the third focuses on how to keep away from knife crime.

The young filmmakers have interviewed senior police officers, the mother of a fatal stabbing victim, a surgeon who carries out post-mortems and a local boxing hero who was stabbed in a street attack.
