A national network of local youth sport development managers is to be established under plans in the youth green paper.
The Government wants to ensure that all young people in England have access to two hours of sport a week.
The local youth sport development managers will be charged with developing opportunities for young people to take part in sport. They will also train youth workers on delivering high-quality sports activities.
The managers will work with existing schemes, including Positive Futures, to engage young people in sport.
