Social Services: Hunter happy with inter-agency work

There is less conflict between agencies working towards the integration of children's services than feared, the new president of the Association of Directors of Social Services has said.

Tony Hunter told Children Now he believed most social service directors were positive about the future. He warned against "getting bogged down in the detail" of the Children Bill and pledged to continue working closely with organisations like the Association of Directors of Education and Children's Services.

He said: "We fully support the objectives behind the Bill but the devil will be in the detail."
