The two-year funding package will allow the centre to rebuild its youth services, which were severely curtailed after the loss of funding a year ago from the Community Fund and the National Lottery.
David Graham, services manager for the centre, said: "It allows us to get back to where we were before."
Plans include an after-school club for young people with issues about their sexuality, a web site for young LGB people in Leicester and work with socially excluded teenagers.
"We also hope to start offering training to youth workers," added Graham.
