Social care star ratings brief: Scope for improvement

There is "scope for improvement" on the proportion of looked-after children who are absent from school, the Commission for Social Care Inspection said. It added that 12 per cent missed at least 25 days during the year ending September 2003, which was the same as in the previous three years.
