The deal includes the purchase of Broadward Residential, which runs fivechildren's homes for a total of 15 children, as well as BroadwardEducation Services, which runs a 35-place school and vocational trainingcentre.
Keys Childcare already runs four special educational needs specialistschools in the north of England, catering for more than 60 children.Keys' marketing director Peter O'Neill said the purchase of Broadwoodwas part of a "strategic growth" in its range of services in theregion.
A spokesman for Keys said the firm "does not envisage any redundanciesor closures" following the acquisition.
