Social Care News: Residential Care - Staff to be told registrationdetails

Staff in children's homes will hear tomorrow (16 February) how the process for registration with the General Social Care Council is likely to work.

It follows last week's news that they will be among the next group ofsocial care professionals to be registered.

"No more Cinderella. The social care workforce is going to the ball,"said Liam Byrne, care services minister, as he made theannouncement.

The consultation by the General Social Care Council will set out thetraining requirements for registration, how the process will be rolledout, how long it will take, and how much it will cost.
