Social Care News: Lone asylum seekers - Glasgow in talks to housechildren

Glasgow City Council is holding talks with the Home Office on whether it will house unaccompanied asylum-seeking children to ease the burden on English local authorities.

The council currently houses adult asylum seekers with children and isnow looking to offer services for unaccompanied children.

The talks come as the Home Office consults on plans to change how ithandles unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.

The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities was due to hold a meetingyesterday (17 April) to discuss the scheme.
