Social Care News Brief: Adoption and fostering - Programme to give fresh care approach

Long-term foster carers, adoptive parents, children and local authorities are to be offered the chance to evaluate a fresh approach to parenting hurt children.

Janet Smith, training manager at Adoption UK, said that so far evaluation had only been done on an informal basis.

A formal evaluation team of purchasers, volunteers and staff would be established in collaboration with the Evaluation Trust and the Hadley Research Centre, she said.
