Sexual Health: Project opens for deaf young people

Young people's sexual health charity Caledonia Youth Forth Valley is delivering the programme at the Forth Valley Sensory Centre in Camelon.

It follows three pilot sessions delivered at the centre in partnership with RNID Scotland.

The pilot sessions came after RNID's appointment of a youth worker at the centre, as well as research by Caledonia Youth on the need for sexual health and relationships education for deaf young people, who do not usually access mainstream services.

Caledonia Youth staff worked with the centre's learning and development officer, who provided training in British Sign Language and an introduction to issues facing deaf young people.
