Scotland: Physical activity awards planned

An accreditation programme that could help local authorities ensure they are providing adequate physical activity for children and families has been launched in Scotland.

The Health and Physical Activity Recognition Programme has been devised by the Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management with support from the Scottish Executive.

The two-year programme acknowledges and rewards organisations for their use of physical activity to improve the health of the local community.
