Sarah Payne, chief executive, YWCA

Sarah Payne has been appointed chief executive of young women's charity YWCA, which works with disadvantaged young women.

She replaces Shan Nicholas, who has held the post in an interim capacity for the past year. Payne has held a range of senior roles in the civil service, most recently as regional commissioner for the National Offender Management Service in the south east of England. Helen Wollaston will replace Christine Freshwater as the new chair of the charity's board of trustees.
