Children in Derbyshire are being taught about the dangers of entering building sites through a new initiative that features a cartoon character called Digga. Derbyshire County Council and the Health and Safety Executive are jointly running the Stay Safe campaign, which is aimed at children aged seven to 11. Schools are being given a teaching pack to help them develop lessons that highlight the hazards present on building sites. Pupils from Riddings Junior School, the first school to receive the teaching pack, are pictured with councillor Paul Smith.
