Road Safety Partnership Grant Scheme

1 min read
What it is: The Road Safety Partnership Grant Scheme was launched in 2006 to encourage joint working between local highway authorities and other service providers. Grants are available to education, healthcare, youth service and voluntary sector organisations that team up with their local highway authority, which must act as lead partner in any application.

How much is on offer: The smallest award made in the last funding round was £15,000 and the largest was just over £1m.

What it will fund: Projects should address a particular road safety issue and show clear objectives and road safety benefits. Evidence of community engagement, sustainability and value for money should be outlined in any proposal. Organisations that use innovative approaches and implement schemes with additional non-road safety and community benefits are favoured.

Who can apply: Any community group that would like to partner the local authority in promoting road safety can apply. Organisations that focus on young male drivers, disadvantaged groups, community ownership of road safety issues and the development of road safety capability will be prioritised. The scheme only applies to England.
