Revised Statutory Guidance for Local Authorities on Children Missing from Home or Care.

Social Care
As part of its commitment to the Young Runaways Action Plan published in June 2008, the government has revised local authorities' guidance on supporting children missing from home or care.

The plan sets out the government's pledge to work with the police, local authorities and the voluntary sector to make sure that young runaways receive the support they need. The guidance is an updated version of the Missing from Care and Home Guidance published in 2002, and sets out to restore the balance between services offered to those who run away from care and those who run away from home.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families is seeking views from people involved in supporting vulnerable young people and safeguarding children.

Closing date: 8 April.
