When his mother died after giving birth to him, David Banda was one of nearly one million orphans in Malawi. He is now the adopted son of Madonna and Hollywood film-maker Guy Ritchie. Talk about the dramatic change in his fortunes.

How do young people think he will react to swapping a life of poverty and disease for one of fabulous wealth and privilege?

When David came to London last week he was brought by a nanny, accompanied by a bodyguard. Does this say anything about his likely future relationship with his adopted parents?

Some human rights groups in Malawi have objected to the adoption and say that proper procedures were not followed. Do young people think this matters? Is it reasonable to relax ordinary rules when dealing with an exceptional person like Madonna?
