BBC Two's Don't Mess with Miss Beckles is the latest reality television programme aiming to improve young people's behaviour. The motivator, who calls herself "Yo", believes in regular homework, strict rules and uniforms.

Talk to young people about this approach. In what ways might it make life better? How might it be worse?

Discuss the principle of showing young people's attitude and behaviour as entertainment. Some people think it is important to show what really goes on in schools and homes. Do young people agree? Are there any dangers?

In the first programme of the series, one teenager left home after rows with his mother. Another has refused to have anything to do with Beckles.
