Peace Direct has collated the findings of workshops involving young British Muslims from a range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds to produce this neat, accessible report on the needs of the second-largest religious group in the UK. While the report highlights the specific concerns of a particular religious ethnic group - such as sense of identity, heritage and cultural history - what becomes apparent is that some of these concerns are common to young people as a whole, such as negative media stereotypes, wanting a voice in local community, and lacking strong role models. Alarmingly, though, one of the report's many statistics points out that 47 per cent of Muslim students have experienced Islamophobia, so there clearly is a need for young Muslims to get their views across, fully participate in their communities and generate greater understanding of their diverse experiences.
