Resources: Review - Person-centred counselling for young bingedrinkers

Counselling Young Binge Drinkers By Richard Bryant-Jefferies Published by Radcliffe Price 19.95 216 pages ISBN 1846190592.

I found this book very enlightening and informative, coming as I do from an integrative model of counselling that uses cognitive behavioural methods.

The idea of using a pure person-centred approach isn't one that I could adopt, but the author demonstrates in two case studies that such an approach can bring about change.

He uses his vast counselling experience, especially with young people, to write these case studies and the technique of looking at "alternative outcomes" for clients realistically highlights the true dangers of binge drinking.
