1. Don't be overawed by anyone quoting the requirements of the Data Protection Act to you. What it says is far from clear cut. For example, one of the main principles is that data on an individual should not be kept longer than is necessary. This is good. Except no-one can say what "longer than necessary" means. This is not so good.
