Cancer care charity Macmillan Cancer Support has launched a helpline offering support to 12- to 21-year-olds who are affected by cancer. Macmillan started the service because about half of calls to its main helpline related to a young person. The service, which was launched by TV presenter Fern Cotton, is free and is available from 9am to 10pm or emails can be sent to youthline@macmillan.org.uk
Inside Britain: A Guide to the UK Constitution
The UK has no written constitution but a set of customs, conventions and laws that have evolved over many centuries. This guide is aimed at supporting citizenship education for 15- to 19-year-olds and covers topics ranging from the role of the Prime Minister to civil rights. The Government is sending out 90,000 free copies to schools, pupil referral units and colleges but it is also available to buy.
