Resources: Just out ... A round-up of new resources for youthworkers

1 min read

Put together by a small and independent group of volunteers, this web site is for those working to promote human rights. It includes a library of resources on monitoring, fact-finding, advocacy and the law. There is also information on specific countries, enabling profiles to be drawn up covering politics, human rights and international agreements. While geared towards human rights professionals, some material may be useful for young people researching issues or for educationalists.

This web site from the National Children's Bureau supports good practice in work with asylum-seeking and refugee children. Britain is home to about 100,000 young asylum seekers, of whom some 5,600 are unaccompanied. Supporting them requires the skills to plan for a range of outcomes. The site includes a training pack and tools to make practice more effective. It has been produced in collaboration with local authorities, academic practitioners, voluntary agencies and community groups.
