This is a report on a three-year pilot project in the Black Country that involved 40 young people each year aged 16 to 19 who were not in employment, education or training. Many had serious personal and family pressures. Eight months after leaving the programme, 74 per cent of the second-year cohort were in full-time employment, two others had part-time jobs and one was in full-time education.
