Play Clips 1 - Understanding Play Types This resource on children's play theory is available on video and DVD.

Although primarily aimed at playwork trainers, it can also be used as a visual tool by anyone wanting to promote children's play. It contains 48 sequences of children's play footage and covers the different types of play.

There is a set of notes to accompany the resource, which give background information on the footage and the types of play covered.

REFUGE

Refuge, the charity against domestic violence, has relaunched its web site. It contains information for children who may be experiencing domestic violence at home and professionals working with them may like to flag it up as a helpful resource. For example, there are answers to commonly asked questions such as: my friend is being hurt at home, what should I do; my mum is being abused, what can I do; and what causes domestic violence?
