New Families Resource Pack

This resource pack gives practitioners information on the full range of rights, benefits and other entitlements for pregnant women and new families. Although written as a tool for professionals, it is designed to be of practical use to pregnant women and new parents as well. Each section starts with an introduction written directly to the professional, while the contents of the sections are written in a question and answer format to the new parent.

And Then You Arrived and We Became a Family

This children's book deals sensitively with adoption. It tells the story of how a girl called Lisa came to live with her parents, exploring their search for a child, and Lisa's feelings about her new family and her natural mother. Colourful pictures illustrate Lisa's gradual understanding as she asks difficult questions about her situation. It aims to help vulnerable children feel wanted and to combat feelings of rejection.
