BENNY GOES TO SCHOOL Benny Bear is a character created by the Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus to make life easier for children who have undergone operations to install shunts, which drain fluid from the brain. The illustrated book tells how Benny deals with school lessons and sports, and highlights that children with hydrocephalus can have fun at school, although they might sometimes need some extra help. This publication has been supported by medical manufacturer Codman.

SMART KIDS

This web site features a cartoon character that teaches primary school children about personal safety. The game begins with an animation featuring 10-year-old George, who tells children how he travels safely between home and school, and asks them questions about safety. Children then have the chance to put what they've learned into practice by taking control of George. They gain points as they move around, but can lose points for picking an unsafe route.
