This frank account of adoption as a single parent is written in anautobiographical style. The author, Julia Wise, decided to adopt aloneat 40. She recounts the experience, from telling her parents of herplans to being called mummy for the first time. The book is one of aseries produced by the British Association for Adoption & Fostering thataims to give potential adopters an idea of what it is like to go throughthe process.
