The Obesity Game

This board game is for teachers, health and mental health professionalsto use with overweight six- to 16-year-olds. It aims to identify andchange eating and exercise patterns by helping young people understandand talk about their feelings, and educate them about food and dieting.It also addresses issues of denial and shame. The game is suitable forchildren with learning disabilities or developmental delay.

Can the State be a Good Parent?

This report examines the state's ability to act as parents tolooked-after children and care leavers. Contributors include formerhealth minister and Labour MP Frank Dobson, Chris Leslie, director ofthe New Local Government Network, as well as young people who haveexperience of the care system. The report argues that good corporateparenting is key to breaking the cycle of underachievement for thisgroup of young people.
