Rail Safety: Network Rail holds youth activity days

The No Messin'! Live events will take place in Eastbourne, Darlington and Slough and will offer a range of activities, including athletics, rugby and DJ workshops. Ian Chapman, national external liaison manager at Network Rail, said the campaign is targeting areas that have problems with vandalism.

"We want to encourage young people to look at what is available in their area," he said.

The No Messin'! campaign was launched in March and is aimed at 10- to 16-year-olds.

Young people can register on the No Messin'! web site (www.no-messin.com) to gain free food vouchers and book activity places. Network Rail runs a number of initiatives to prevent railway crime (YPN, 26 January-1 February, p16).
