Drink spiking is when a substance with mind-altering capabilities, such as drugs or alcohol, is added to a person's drink without their knowledge.

It leaves the victim vulnerable and less in control of their own actions and behaviour. People who binge drink are most at risk from drink spiking. Perpetrators often spike women's drinks to carry out a sexual assault or rape
