Youth Justice
The youth justice system fails to cater to girls and young women despite the fact that the factors influencing the likelihood of girls offending differ from those affecting boys, according to a new report.

Research by the CfBT Education Trust concluded that the development of gender-specific programmes for girls who offend had been slow "despite encouragement from the Youth Justice Board".

The report said that most interventions provided by youth offending teams and "secure establishments" were developed to respond to male offending.
