Programme of summer activities

A programme of summer activities for young people in Chelmsford, Essex, has been hailed a success after the number of complaints about antisocial behaviour in the area fell compared with the year before.

The Summer of Fun was organised by Chelmer Housing Partnership and Essex Police and saw more than 150 teenagers take part in activities such as football, circus skills, a trip to Colchester Zoo and arts projects. Essex Police received 129 complaints about antisocial behaviour from July to September 2008, compared with 139 for the same period in 2007.
