Policy & Practice: Soapbox - Nip voter apathy in the bud byinvolving teenagers

Politicians are the first to complain about it, but seem to be the last to take action to improve the situation. I believe that simply including young people more in the political process would help overcome the problem.

Many fantastic organisations such as the British Youth Council and UK Youth Parliament are dedicated to the cause: now we just need some effort from the Westminster parliamentarians to back it all up. Labour's manifesto for the recent general election featured an entire chapter on what it would deliver for elderly people, a group well-known for voting in large numbers.

But why not have a similar section of the document devoted to young people?
