Four out of 10 young people (38.2 per cent) said healthy living was their "top concern" in an online survey carried out by the Hansard Society.

Almost one in three of the 450 young people surveyed (29.5 per cent) said the environment was their major concern, while 13.3 per cent said crime mattered most. A total of 9.5 per cent opted for schools, while 5.3 per cent said leisure. Four per cent said transport was their top concern.

The poll was carried out to mark the launch of the Hansard Society's Y Vote Mock Elections for school pupils, which take place in the run up to the local elections on 3 May.
