RESULTS FROM THE SCHOOL Health Education Unit's annual survey that were published last week have once again highlighted the problem of healthy young women wanting to lose weight.
Using data from a representative sample of 17,743 10- to 15-year-old young women, the researchers found that 60 per cent of young women wanted to lose weight, but only 15 per cent were actually overweight according to body mass index calculations. In an attempt to achieve their aim, 30 per cent of 14- to 15-year-old young women reported missing breakfast, and 21 per cent missed lunch.
