At the school-based drop-in centre we often see teenagers who think they are pregnant. In this case a 15-year-old came to see me. We work within a code of conduct and make it clear to the young person that we will offer confidentiality.
If and when we discover sensitive information we would always aim to work in partnership with the school and the parents. It's not about keeping information from parents and carers. But there was no way she wanted to tell anyone at this stage. My primary concern was for the young woman.
